Here is a recently finished painted textile piece with hand stitching.
The stitch dash marks, along with the circles and yellowish tones instantly reminded me of curling film strips for some reason. Film chemicals are often yellow and the dashes remind me of the notches in film stripes. I realize that's probably not what you're going for though. Generally, there's a nice motion to the piece. Is it a similar size to the pieces you brought to the residency?
